is that grizzled old main cop the principal from Breakfast Club?!
Thanks for ruining the movie, jackass
Was this movie as bad as it looked?
You didn't even see this movie.
Everyone just judges it by the poster.
In reality, Paul Blart works his modest job as a mall cop while taking care of his dying father. His father was a real cop, a true hero, but too many deaths, and too much ugliness in the world drove him to alcohol and depression. Now Paul has to support the man who belittled him and largely neglected him for most of his life. The film balances scenes between Blart and his father, who sheds a cold and arrogant exterior as his body weakens, with his time at the mall where he befriends an awkward and shy boy he suspects is an orphan. Blart's sad connection to the boy is he too knows the the loneliness and desperation of being an alienated youth.
Can Paul forgive his father? Will Blart be able to challenge a youth to achieve more than he ever did?
This film is heartbreaking yet life affirming, carried by a breakthrough role for Kevin James. You really missed out.
I considered seeing it, but when I was told that Kevin James didn't take off his shirt at all, I figured it wasn't worth my time.
